"Hope for the best. Prepare for the worst." It's a good saying. It's a logical saying, but what happens when you lean on one more than the other. Hope too much and you're reckless and in danger of getting hurt. Prepare too much and you're safe, but are you really happy? Are you really living or are you just surviving? There needs to be a balance. Finding it tends to be a pain, considering it moves around constantly. Don't know why I posted this, maybe looking for other thoughts on it. Maybe I'm just lost in my head right now. I don't know.

Agreed.
For me, hope has become distant and irrelevant. Preparation - any kind - requires more focus and energy than I can usually muster. ![]()

Personally I always expect the worst. That way when it happens I'm not surprised. That's just me though.

I used to always prepare for the worst. Sometimes I run the worst-case scenario in my head and mentally prepare myself in case it happens. I usually don't fall apart unless I'm having a crisis. I just deal with the matter and decompress afterwards.
