(Trigger warning as a precaution, and because I'm not entirely familiar with what content constitutes material that is deserving of a warning on this forum, so it's better to be safe than sorry)

Hello everyone,

I had a pretty low day today. There were periods where I couldn't think straight and it felt as though I couldn't concentrate on anything, and other periods where I dwelled on self-depreciating thoughts. However, the reason I am writing is that I've stopped caring about whether or not I get hurt. I'm not actively self harming, but I'm starting to develop a mentality of me deserving pain. Is there any way in which to stop this cycle before it escalates into something huge?

Thank you all for your support and continued understanding.

You can change your self talk. Every time you catch yourself self-depreciating say stop and replace it with a better thought. Thought stopping works it just takes persistence.

For every insult you think, compliment yourself on paper. It's something I have to do all of the time. I have really self-destructive habits and impulses. A lot of people around me think it's funny. If they only knew, right? I don't know how to stop those, but my thoughts are with you. Hang in there.
