I´ve been feeling down for years and I´ve been depressed for around two years or so. I feel I´ve tried everything and I keep feeling depressed. I have short periods of four to five days when I feel a bit better but in the long run I feel down, unmotivated, that life´s not worth living.

I´ve tried
  • Several antidepressants and anxiety reducers without effect.
  • I see a T regularly and have done so almost a year now.
  • I take walks almost daily.
  • I eat rather healthy and always three meals a day.
  • I take pills like magnesium, D vitamine, omega 3 and multivitamins.
  • I´m not overweight.
  • I´ve studied the last year, a subject I like and I´ve tried to be at school at least sometimes to meet with people.
  • I´ve searched for new friends and I see friends from time to time even if it´s too seldom.
  • I try to get enough sleep, I sleep in a dark not too warm room.
But nothing helps, I feel I´m stuck in life and nothing I do seem meaningful. I don´t like where I live but I´m unemployed and don´t have much choice. I also see that even if positive things happen to me it´s not enough and I lie on my bed, sometimes I cry and I often feel life´s black.

Google the writer Jean Gonick. I found her inspiring.

Maybe try shaking things up in your life? If you're missing meaning in your life, take some time to decide on something you think could be meaningful and go for it. Do something you wouldn't normally do and see if it gets you out of the rut.

I know it's hard, I've been battling depression for years myself and I'm sorry you're going through this.
