Just help me try to determine the best course of action for hopefully achieving the best-possible whatever for someone such as myself having to deal with life as it is under my particular circumstances.

I recently went inpatient for just over a week to have a safe place while adjusting to a new medication. That was helpful for me.

Understood, and finding someone to help me with my next course of action was not easy.

Hi Fuzzy

I could throw in things like exploring different perceptions, finding distractions, self care..........but you know talking can be good too........
So just to let you know right here for you Fuzzy if you want/need to talk about what's going on for you..............
Either way though sending lots of caring and hugs to the best bear around in case it may help in even the most slightest, tiniest way

Alison

Fuzzybear, I hear you. What helps varies from person to person, but there are some things that research says help with depression (in addition to the right meds and talk therapy. Oldies but goodies and they should be looked into if you haven't already)A book called The Upward Spiral had some ideas (really small steps) that helped me a bit and togethered added up. Just some thoughts:
Self care (warm/hot bath with scents), massage, exercise (ugh! Who has the energy to do that? But I started by just walking around my house once. It gave me an odd out-of-proportion sense of accomplishment, so now I'm up to 5 laps around the house), music )I start out with really sad songs and work my way up to happier tunes. Don't know why but this sometimes works for me. It's like I'm acknowledging that I'm starting off in a tough space and then move upward), going outside in nature (especially when the sun is out), doing something with my hands, snuggling my cat, making sure I get enough vitamins and minerals (esp vitamin d), mindfulness meditation, emotional freedom technique (tapping--it really helped with my constant critical voice. Look on YouTube if you're interested), keeping a gratitude journal, doing something for someone else (I just don't have the energy to volunteer. Maybe later. But for right now, I can sign online petitions for causes I believe in. It makes me feel like I'm contributing to the world in some small way so I don't
So useless. If you like to write a website called TheMighty is always looking for writers to post blogs on mental illness--you could write a short piece that would help others understand what it's like to be in your shoes. Very helpful to them and it makes you feel good too!
Anyway, Just a bunch of things that may or may not help, but are worth a shot. I hope something in here resonates with you.
Oh and keep on reaching out here on psych central. It's good to be heard.
