So my p doc has me on Ativan & Wellbutrin. The Wellbutrin I've been on for like 2 years now. It gives me the energy I need to feel balanced. Throughout my therapy journey (4yrs on and off) I've realized that many of the symptoms I attributed to depression were actually due to anxiety. My fear of getting out of bed to go to work & thinking of all the things I have to do while feeling overwhelmed is one of them. Also, large crowds of people I don't know triggers my anxiety. At work(desk job), I interact with a couple people but nothing major because I'm scared out of my mind that they'll think I'm weird or awkward. So I do my work & talk to a select few people.
So I take Ativan as needed for anxiety. I'm actually not sure if it's working or not. Does anyone have any experience with this drug?

I took it many years ago and found it helped, however, they gave it to my dad and he had a reaction and started hallucinating. He was fine after a few days without it, but it would make me think twice about taking it again.

It helped my anxiety while I was hospitalized back in March of last year. I told them not to prescribe it upon my discharge, though. I didn't want to have it around because I liked it's affects when I took a little bit more of it. That and I was building up a tolerance. I prefer to stay away from addictive substances. I don't have much of an addictive personality but I'd do anything to stop my constant fear and anxiety from my PTSD. It's not a safe drug around me.

Sadly, neither Ativan or Xanax did any more for me than a TicTac

I also take Wellbutrin...

I'm slowly taking Ativan. I used to use Klonopin and I've written what hell it was for me to cold turkey off of it. So I said, please don't give me Klonopin so he gave me Ativan instead.

Like Sophiesmom said, it doesn't have much of a sedating effect on me. I'm doing my best not to take it very much. I just cannot ever experience that hell ever again.
