I admit it - I can be very stubborn.

I don't like having to take meds, but I do it. Then yesterday I go to pick up my meds. Thanks to great insurance my meds are free. But yesterday they tell me my meds would be almost $300.

Screw that.

So, I have stopped taking my meds. I WILL NOT PAY that kind of money for stupid meds! I won't do it.

Anyone else have similar struggles?

Hi IDM!!!

You refuse to pay something you shouldn't owe, something they should have no right to ask for.........I don't call that stubborn
But........working on someone may have made a mistake somewhere along the line, could you maybe chase up.........I don't know the pharmacy or the insurance company??...........to sort something out??
And even if they are a little more, then if there's a way to get them cheaper??

But if you are stubborn........you know I say that sometimes stubbornness can be a good (sometimes a very good!!) quality , and this may be a great case to use it on.........you've been prescribed those meds, a doctor says you should have them, you've got the right to be taking them.........so be stubborn, be as stubborn as you can!!
Chase up whoever you need to on being asked to pay, and stick to getting them cheaper if you need to pay, if you can get them cheaper.........and either way, take a little pride in your stubbornness!!

Alison

Something like that happened to me last week. Haven't taken my meds since Monday and I think that might have something to do with my mood shift. It sucks and I should work on it.
I do agree with above. That's not stubbornness, that's refusing to pay money you don't owe. I hope things get worked out for you, though.

Health care and med costs eat up 80% of my income! Affordable health cars my ***!
Just one thing to consider: I don't know what meds you're on but some of this stuff causes horrific withdrawal symptoms if you stop taking them cold turkey. Nobody needs that on top of what we're already dealing with, so maybe get one last supply and try to taper rather than stop cold?
Many drug mfg have coupons and sliding scale payment help for people who have trouble paying for their med--worth looking in to. And of course, there's my favorite--scoring free samples from my doc.
Maybe one of these ideas will work for you
