I know that it no longer works. Hasn't for a long time now.

Used to be that I could slap the headphones on and climb inside the music. The music would lift my mood. Well, that doesn't happen anymore.

I still like the music, but it does absolutely nothing for my mood. But I still keep putting the headphones on hoping that i can climb into the music. And when that doesn't happen, my mood drops. It usually causes the tears to flow. And then I feel like crap for hours afterwards. Just as I do at this moment.

But let me get to the point, let's roll another joint
And turn the radio loud, I'm too alone to be proud
You don't know how it feels
You don't know how it feels to be me

Try listening to music you haven't heard before. Older music is better. Even look at bands in other countries. This new music is dreadful.

Try these.

Music sometimes really helps and is a great comfort. At other times, the same music can make me despondent. I don't know what to tell you.

My music is classic rock, mid 60s up to the mid 90s or so. The new stuff I don't follow. I like a bunch of older country too. A bit of jazz. Don't like rap or hip-hop. Not much for blues.

And don't even mention classical or opera. lol.

Right now I'm listening to a mix on youtube and there are a bunch of songs that I haven't heard in decades.
