It's funny, not funny I guess.

When I saw my doctor last week I did my best to say what a bad place I seem to be finding myself in. I got the impression at the time that she wasn't really getting it.

At the same time I was hoping she would sign a medical form letting me do a skydive...today I found out she is happy for that.

Today I got this form back, and I am good to go. And on it is written "whisperingskye has been stable for 4.5 months"

I shouldn't laugh, but somehow it's funny that even when I say I feel terrible I am actually stable. What do I know....

I suppose they think they know.....

(Or is it because of the "system" ... )

Doctors don't get me.. it's rather like talking in "parallel" even if they seem to listen more (which I have found is rare..)

I get it. I too have had a problem in the past with doctors & therapists not really listening. I also understand how you can be stable yet struggle. I too can't really put it into words. Just know you're not alone.

my pdoc will say things like you look a lot better today ... at the time it seems like wtf ... but on reflection long term (only go ever 2-4 months) ... he is usually right ... I still think he's a jerk ... but he has helped in his own way ....

he has moved from a clinic with many pdoc's to running a rehab and addiction recovery center ... following him there , know idea how I will like waiting with addicts ...

Honestly I just think it's because I have a job, if I can manage that then I must be stable. Nevermind the fact most of my previous attempts happened when I was holding down a full time a job, same with time spent under the crisis team/inpatient.

Your doctor is definitely not hearing what you're saying. Are you telling her everything? I'm sorry you're having a tough time. You're not alone. Next time you see her maybe you could say I don't feel stable. What can we do about that? Make her listen. If she still doesn't get it you may need to change doctors.

Haha.

There is only one doctor in my local mental health team so unless she leaves there is no chance of changing.

I probably won't even see her again for ages now anyway...

Thank you though. I'm not having a moan at you, just the way it is over here.

I agree.. it's "the way it is" over here..... and we "have to deal with it"

Well, I for one, am beyond tired of their bs.....I actually thought it was "me" who was "wrong" years ago,

Naturally, this is what they want us to think....

Respect to all here

I get what you mean. I have a hard time communicating with my doctor too although it's gotten better. I had one I liked before I moved but the new one just doesn't seem to get it. A lot of times I feel better on the days I see the doctor too which makes it harder to communicate he problems I'm having

Hang in there whispering skye. Sometimes holding a full time job looks and feels like an improvement. The question is "How well do you like or handle the job. Is your boss good to work with? Is the workload acceptable?"
I will keep you in my heart and prayers.
