Something happened today (or didn't happen) and my "default" feelings of guilt and shame have kicked in..
 I'm not a horrible toxic person but the Parental Units did a good job of implanting those damaging messages Mea culpa Bad paws Love to everyone here, thank you for being here for me

New here. Not sure where the hug imogee is yet but certainly offer anyone a hug. So after years of practicing letting go of thoughts that make me feel bad I do feel less guilt and shame but I'm still more skittish than I want to be. Writing helps (when I do it).

I'm sorry whatever it was triggered you so much, and I guess all I can do is completely agree that no you are not a horible toxic person, and really commend you for recognising that despite what they put you through But I hope, also, that you can appreciate that you are much more than "not a horrible, toxic person".........you are a very caring, considerate, thoughtful, special person too Fuzzy........and try to be proud of who you are Alison |

They also have said that depression is anger turned inward. I didnt get it when depression first hit me but I sure understand now what was going on then. I had no ideawhat was making me THAT ANGRY until I finally left that situation . Some things we are blinded from until the knowledge is made known to us.
