"always"
"never"

Those words tend to "raise flags" for me when I read or hear them. Repeated internal affirmations that include any of those words... Well, it would be wise to carefully assess what one is trying to accomplish with such mantras.

I'm spraying crop spray on ridiculous noxious seeds and weeds

Judgmental (should) as well as black-&-white terminology (never / always) is, more often than not, dangerous territory... in my opinion.

I agree with the above. My dad raised me with "You should have..." rather than telling me I did well or encouraging me by commenting on the positive. I was, and will always be, not good enough.

I do not use that phrase.
