I've had extreme difficulties of doing things I need to do. Most of it has been doing school work, but the past few days it's just been getting out of bed. I find no point of getting out of bed. I find no point in doing things because I always fail (now). I can't seem to do things. Life is so hard. My parents don't understand at all. I don't think they're ready to accept or learn about mental illness. The only people who understand are a few teachers at my school. I just want to be able to do things again.

Me too... I've been having little motivation to do a lot of things I need to.
What helps me though is writing a to-do list, as simple as you want to make it, even if it includes getting out of bed and having breakfast. Then checking off (or crossing off or whatever you feel like doing) things you have accomplished. It really makes me feel less like a failure ![]() I hope you feel better soon and find some understanding from your family! ![]() |

My friends, same here I am perhaps a bit older, but let me tell you this word of love and advice. Do what ever it takes to resolve your motivation now, because as you get older you will regret what you didn't do and it will get harder getting out of that bed. Love you all.

Nike...did they put you on any medication when you went to the ER? It seems like your parents would have really had their eyes opened with that situation that occurred at school the other day. I'm sorry you feel like they don't or won't get it.
I think a lot of us here have problems with motivation. Please don't beat yourself up for it. That makes it worse. My therapist told me that on the days I had absolutely no motivation to make a to-do list with only 3 small things on it (I mean really simple). Once I've finished those 3, I can decide whether to do more or not. Some days I can't even do the 3 so I feel for you. I hope you start feeling better and get more motivated. I'm rooting for you... ![]() |

No, they didn't. I was told that since I was seeing my pdoc in a few days that it'd be better if she did any med changes than them there. I saw her and did change it. She wanted to increase Luvox, though I explained that that wasn't what I wanted and really wanted off Luvox, as nothing has been that bad for me. I am now on Effexor XR, which seems a lot better. I haven't really thought
Possible trigger:
My parents don't really keep tabs with me at school. I don't show them my tests or tell them about assignments because I have pretty much failed every test I've taken and all my assignments are handed in late because I lack motivation, am extremely tired, and can't concentrate. My mom does tell me to do homework but I don't. She gets angry at me for not doing it. My parents both think this is something I can "think myself out of" or "force myself" to do things like I used to. I have made a plan on my calendar to do parts of this late assignment for an hour or two at a time. I have done it both days. It is an assignment I am interested in so it makes things easier on that aspect. Thank you :-)
