The day after seeing a therapist, after feeling good and optimistic, my employer told me I wasn't meeting up to par with company policy. They labor tracked me just to make my life that much harder and told me I wasn't pulling enough orders and that I could possibly be terminated. Wow. This sets off my anxiety especially since I need the money to even see a therapist. Not to mention my mother doesn't know about this, after going to therapy with me the day before.
And I'll look like the problem child again. I feel like a huge ****ing failure at 25. It is unreal how I am treated like a slave at work. Now I'm afraid that I just can't work anymore. One little mistake at work ruins everything. And the pay was good for a warehouse too. Is anyone here self employed and getting by? How do you become self employed and manage? |

I was self-employed and making pretty decent money as a tutor (SAT, high school subjects, etc.). But I would really not recommend it. Very stressful, running around here and there, constantly hustling for new clients, etc. I did this only because I needed something flexible around school.
It's also possible to make a minimal living with the various work at home options. There may be newer sites, but I like Work From Home - Work at Home Jobs, Recipes & Articles For Moms - WAHM.com. Edit: the link auto-formatting makes it look like a spam site, but it's not. There's a big difference between "could possibly be terminated" and really terminated, though. Can you schedule a quick meeting with your supervisor and ask for their best advice? "I'm ready to do anything you recommend," etc.? |

I agree. Sitting down with your boss to discuss his/her advice or recommendations shows you are interested in making an improvement in your work. It could really help you turn things around.

A therapist can offer certain perspectives. Perhaps, though, it would be useful to bring your work history and experiences to a vocational counselor. Such a person might be able to offer you different thoughts no less valuable than those of a therapist.
