I don't trust easily. Understatement. I've been burnt too many times by those I (somewhat) trusted, and by others who .. did what bullies do.

I recently visited a doctor. (I live in the uk). They gave me something for the rash and a med for Depression/Anxiety etc...(I'm nervous about taking this )

I asked for a referral to see a psychologist but wasn't given this.

I wonder, as I often do, if I'm worth it

What happened? Did the doctor say they wouldn't give you the referral? What it an insurance issue? Did the doctor forget and you didn't speak up for yourself?

The doctor didn't say.. the implication was to try the new med first

I think it could be about cost, as in I'm not worth the money that seeing a psychologist would cost

The doctor didn't say "no" but said/implied to try the med first. I did try to speak up for myself within the time constraints. It isn't an insurance issue (I'm in the UK, we are supposed to visit the GP/primary care doctor with our concerns, and they are supposed to make referrals. The system is under funded for mental health issues)

I hope this med helps you and you are not allergic to it. Be persistent to get that referral. You ARE worth it.

I wonder if the meds I am taking have made me better or worse. I wish it all wasn't so confusing. I'm right here with you, Fuzz

I have no doubt that you are worth it, even if the NHS red tape and doctors make you feel otherwise .

I've been so on-the-fence about your new med. I want so badly for it to go against the odds and be one you're not allergic to. So badly.
