Hi guys. So I have major depressive disorder (clinical depression), anxiety, agoraphobia, trichollomania possible ptsd and autism. So yesterday was a weird day but normal. I started a new medication and its now increased. Basically i was depersonalised for an hour and during that time i walked to a train station and sat on the yellow line. i felt really out of society i felt small the world felt huge i dont even remember this. i just rmemeber being there and walking in the middle of the road. I told a professional and they said depersonalisation. this is maybe the first time this has happened to this degree. is it common with MDD?

I don't really know, myself. I withdraw from things and shut down on occasion, but I don't depersonalize as such.
You said you just changed your medication. So I strongly suggest going immediately back to your prescriber and discussing it with them. It might be a side effect that you don't have to endure. They are supposed to be there for follow-up for precisely that reason. I'm sorry to hear you're having such a tough time. Take care. |
