Sometimes if I cant make sense of what am feeling then it makes it harder to explain to others how I feel but quite often am classed as an attention seeker which hurts but what hurts more is people that seem to have a go at me telling me to get a grip as there are others out there who are worse off than me which i get but people that say this have no idea what am going through to feel the way I do and they don't take the time to understand why so a lot of the time am left to fight my battle on my own as it's always been that way from when i first got ill had to get through it on my own with no help and surrounded by folk telling me oh get a grip or your young what you got to be depressed about.

Sadly, there are still a lot of people who lack any understanding for people with depression. I've been always kind of ashamed for my own issues, because I always felt like people didn't really understand. Depression is a horrible illness. Not only does it drain all of our motivation, our life forces, but it also makes it appear to you as if it were your fault. And, because it's not a visible disease, people often misjudge you as just being lazy or dramatic.

Don't despair, there are a lot of people here feeling like you. Hugs from me.

I hear you. It’s frustrating and difficult when totally insensitive clods spout that garbage. I just remind myself that those people are fortunate that they have no MI. They simply couldn’t handle it.

Grath makes a good point. You are in good company here. I hope you feel better soon.

Funny how my fb rant last night had one off my friends proving how right I was in what I said, I was told that what I said was rather nasty and maybe I should delete as I could offending many people but the way I see it is if you take offense to what I say then you obviously have something to feel guilty about as nobody likes being told their wrong and this just proves it to me.

You know something that really opened my eyes was despite all the friends I have and all those that took offense only one person messaged me and asked if I was OK and they we're here for me anytime I needed to chat

I personally have found that some people who are “never” wrong are ... amongst those I least want to associate with

You know your own heart, if you didn’t mean to offend anyone then you have nothing to feel bad about. And if some had already been “mean” then you were “fair” in being able to state your opinion.

Just my opinion

I’m glad you have one decent friend out of all that

Yes I was totally justified as a friend told me to get a grip and get over myself so I basically flipped
