so I got this line in an email today, and even though I understand what is meant by it, the more I thought about it the more it kinda made me upset.

""Sorry to hear you aren't feeling the best.""

really?? wtf?! when does ANYONE with an MI feel "the best"??? is there even such a thing? I mean with my depression - it's always there! I can't even remember a time that was 'the best'!

do others see/notice/ get this too or is it just me?????

My mom used to say “One day I hope you’ll be happy”.

I think it’s because people don’t know what to say. For example, have you ever gone to a funeral and just felt so at a loss for words? It’s a similar feeling that people without MI feel. They know there’s pain there but they don’t know what to say to make things better or to offer comfort.
I honestly think it’s good they offer comfort at all. Because they mean those words as a way of giving support. And support from friends is better than abandonment.
