Depression

My “friend” asked me about my Depression. And then they abandoned me, completely. Just like the “family” of origin, who kept telling me how useless and horrible I am.

All those words, all those betrayals and abandonments, visit me endlessly, when I’m trying to sleep, telling me how I’m “not good at anything” and worse

Maybe I “should” just disappear?

Even if "unworthy" people abandoned you, it was still abandonment. Abandonment - any abandonment - hurts. When it involves family, it's primal.

Don't disappear. They are wrong. You need to know that. Its not you, its them.

Hi Fuzzy, As a new member I have found you to be very useful in the sharing of your posts, hugs, wisdom and experience. This thread touches my heart because I have experienced similar events with so called friends and family. I finally decided I had to manage the toxic relationships in my life so they wouldn't have the power to cause or be the triggers. My support group is minimal due to my severe trust issues, but I choose not to be around people who make me feel worse than I already do. I know I'm not a horrible person just because my parents told me I was! I hope you feel better sooner than later.
