I am feeling a little depressed today.

stupid reason really- it's just dawned on me that the lead singer of the cranberries has died (when I first heard it on an email list, It didn't really sink in)

but now it is

and well..... I miss her (says the person who doesn't even know her), but I miss her like I do michael jackson

That's not stupid. I took Robin Williams death pretty hard. Because they share their talent with you, it feels like you know them in a way. Of course the loss would be hard. Hugs.

Oh geez. Sorry. Yah he had mental issues as well which is why it hit me so hard. Always happy on the outside, but suffering inside his head.

doesn't jim karie have some sort of mental illness?

I'm sure he does.

I'm sure I remember reading somewhere the reason jim karie is so creative is because of his MI

and don't worry about robin williams. it's okay.

Don't feel bad about it at all. When Carrie Fisher died I took it SO DAMN hard. I mean I am so upset over it still that I wasn't able to go see the latest Star Wars movie, "The Last Jedi" because I know that was her last movie role. I heard that she had a very powerful "goodbye" scene in it too, and I know for a fact, I would have broken down in the theaters if I saw it. I loved her as Princess Leia in Star Wars as a kid, because she was such a strong ballsy character, and there weren't that many women like that in the Science Fiction genre, which I love.

Later in life, Carrie Fisher really opened up about her mental illness, (bipolar), and her excessive drinking, all which I can relate to so well. She then became an important activist for those that suffer with mental illness, fighting for our rights and freedoms. I loved her so much!

(And by the way I loved the singer of the Cranberries too. Reports have been made that she suffered with mental illness and alcoholism too).

feel depressed over singer's death

I felt very sad about Patty Duke who spent decades being open about her bipolar and advocating/raising money for MI treatment and help. She was the first star to honestly describe and own bipolat. She was diagnosed when it was manic depressive or just dismissed as crazy. I have so much respect for her advocacy. Her final days in hospice w cancer were spent with her sons planning to continue MI advocacy after she was gone. We lost a comrade and ally that day fighting for our community before some of us were even born.

I took Robin Williams' death very hard. Sent me into a full blown depression. I think it's because we relate to them, not only for their talent but also because we know what it's like to suffer with MI.
Thanks for this!

their's going to be more (I hope)

Linger is my favorite of their songs. Followed closely by When You're Gone and Zombie.

Don't feel bad. Chester Bennington's (lead singer of Linkin Park) and Johghyun's (lead singer of Shinee I didn't even listen to that group) death shook me up a bit. They both suffered from mental health issues and it became too much for them. You're not alone in your feelings.

There are going to be more movies... "The Last Jedi" is only the middle episode of the latest trilogy so there is one more to complete the trilogy, the final Episode IX will be out in another two years.

And next year is a stand-alone movie about the younger adventures of Han Solo.

There are other stand-alone movies in the works and then Rian Johnson said he has an idea and wants to work on another full Star Wars trilogy.

Carrie Fisher's role in The Last Jedi was beautiful in my opinion.

I was pretty sad when Robin Williams died too and about the reason why it happened. As a child I loved the show, Mork and Mindy and always thought he was hilarious.

No, I don't think it's stupid to grieve for Dolores O'Riordan, someone you never knew. Because in a way you did know her, she shared her heart and soul through her music. It's like when Chris Cornell took his life last year, well, I couldn't believe it. And again, I was 28 when Princess Diana died, and that was the first time I felt grief for someone I'd never met. But, yes, I was a bit surprised I felt that way, to be honest.
