I remembered at another discussion board, someone had made a good point about work as being the only social life that many have. When I'm at my job I feel like I am a somebody. Everywhere else such as: where I live, church, and family it seems like I am invisible. There would be people around me at those places but I don't feel connected. However, at work, it's not as social as it used to be. But even on bad days at work, I feel better than I do elsewhere.

Does anyone else feel the same way?

When I used to work it did seem like that way.

I've been on leave for the Easter break for a week and have another week to go and already my mood is dropping. At work I have a focus on enabling/educating others and there are things that I have to do or I'll be letting people down so I get them done, but when I'm off I only have myself to focus on, and that doesn't usually go so well. I try to make myself do things and go out and meet people but it's an effort and often I waste my time on non productive crap, dozing during the day, watching porn, or too often trying to decide what to do out of too many options and ending up doing nothing then feeling worse.

I have a great family but I struggle to connect with them, just since the PTSD. I do much better 1:1 when I am with two of my sisters. No one ever treats me badly, I just don't feel connected.

Many years all I did was go to work and home to sleep. The only time I saw family was holidays. I think there's just a time in our lives when we do that
