Just another Saturday trying to get motivated for another day. I have already been asked for help this morning by my girlfriend explaining her home loan documents. None of my family knows I suffer from depression and self-harm thoughts. As I seem to now be the elder and patriarch, I am the one tasked for handling the affairs of my family and my girlfriends family. I never got a vote in this. But I am also the person most capable of handling these various, and sometimes complex tasks. I willingly help, but I want to know.....where can I turn for help?

While it's nice to know people have confidence in us, sometimes, it can be too much.

Ditto here. Delegate. It's a great diversion, too. Find just two or three people out of all of them who are talented at different things, no matter how little, and delegate the heck out of all the things you have to do. Remember to compliment them, and they will probably love the approval and attention from you. You might just discover that you have a support network a lot closer than you think!

I'm sorry you feel overwhelmed and like you can't talk to your family about it. Do you have a therapist or a close friend you can talk to?
