I was told by someone that I seem to be doing better....... Yet I don't feel that way at all....

What is better anyway?

The only person who ever truly knows how you feel, is you (or possibly a dog, who are remarkably tuned to such things) and that feeling is colored by much more than appearances, or external behavior. That said, if someone observes you to be 'doing better' - it's possible that you actually are, but your consciousness hasn't yet picked up on it.

It's also possible the person does not know you well and/or is going by surface cues only (the masks we put on, for example) and truly has not a clue. Only you know.

Well it could go both ways. Maybe you are just hiding better. Or it could be that you actually are doing better. Our subconscious causes our body language to change without our awareness of it.

Maybe they noticed one behavior that seems better and thought you were ok

I agree that our unconscious can cause our body language to change without us being aware of it..I’m also not sure what “better” means
