Another bad day for me.

Y'day I had some peace and I thought I was recovering. But .... sigh...no! I m getting feelings of being mildly electrocuted in the brain and there's a burning sensation inside my head, my eyes and my whole body and at times very mild spasms too...this is making me tired and sleepy. And depressed. I m getting small panic attacks too from time to time. I lay in bed for 12hrs and still I feel tired. What a way to start a day! And its bothersome bc though its mild it's continuous...it's started since 8 in the morn and now its 12noon and it's still going on.

But I guess it's not my fault at least not entirely. Today I m going to watch a movie with my mom and then we are going to do shopping - we are also going to have fish fry and fries and pastry....hopefully I'll be able to enjoy it. Y'day I was sure I will have fun today, but today I m not so sure.

I m really upset! And angry.

Oh, my. Could you be doing through med withdrawal? That can cause what's labeled as "brain zaps." At any rate, I hope you feel better soon.

Yes, hang in there Desiree2006. It does sound like withdrawal symptoms to me as well, particularly the brain zaps you described. I've had those and it could effect your mood too. Best talk to your doctor about it Desiree2006. You're right, it's not your fault at all. Or take a smaller dose of your meds and taper off gradually. But yes, talk to your doctor about it so you wont be in the discomfort much longer with the brain zaps. Hang in there and stay positive, you're doing well.

Initially I was on 20mg prozac once in the morn. There was no significant improvement after 3weeks. So I have been advised to take 20mg twice - once in the morn and once at noon. But I m scared. Do you think think it's too much? Can 40mg prozac lead to hypomania? I have had two manic episodes before where I got aggressive and was irritable and breaking things. My pdoc gave me buspar and it helped me to remain calm. Well, I have been having severe depression for over a year now. Anyways I think we can stop the prozac immediately when I get the first signs of hypomania. Currently I m severely depressed and getting out of bed or doing laundry or going to the grocers to buy food is a big problem. I can't buy food or cook even if I m out of food and hungry. I don't work as well. And 20mg prozac isn't helping with this. Not after 3weeks.

I was on 50mg amisulpride but it was causing akathasia so we stopped it.

I am also on 200mg lamotrigine and 30mg buspar .Don't know how the lamotrigine works but the buspar helps me to keep calm. I like the buspar.

What do you think little turtle?

Well I m not manic or breaking things. I have not been manic or broken anything for about a year. But I m still pretty depressed. The 20mg prozac is not helping me that much. I m still worried about the 40mg dosage.

The amisulpride was hurting me. So we stopped it.

Little turtle can you not advise me about the prozac? I won't hold you accountable I promise. I wanted your opinion on it bc I value your opinion. I have been severely depressed for over a year and it's hurting me very much. Since my MI is more biological I guess I would need meds.
