Thanks to Anthony Bourdain there is a lot of discussion about suicide going on. I have been in treatment for Bipolar 1 Disorder for decades and yes, there have been a few times when I felt suicidal. I have also lost too many loved ones to suicide and know the awful pain of that kind of loss.
Some years ago I was not feeling stable and went online to see if I could find some kind of help. I was very fortunate and found the following link. It made a lot of sense to me in the mindset I was in; it really helped me.

The only caveat I will put out there is that I have not heard the greatest reports about the National Suicide Hotline. There are so many hotlines and "warmlines" now, specifically to help certain populations (veterans, teens, etc.).
NAMI is an outstanding resource.
Did you know that anyone in the U.S. can call 211 at any time and get all kinds of help and assistance (mental illness, life stress, legal help, help to pay for meds, and so on)?
So. Here's the link. Please share it, or at least keep it. You never know when you or someone you care about will need it.
