Lately I've found that everyone's words affect me just way too much.

Someone I don't even know said something small, probably with no intent to hurt my feelings, and I'm already obsessing over it.

I'm at work and all my client said was "I want to talk to your coworker next time, she's attractive."

In my mind I've already taken this to mean that I'm an unattractive ogre and should just go ahead and give up.

Does anyone have advice on how to let things like this go and not take it so personally? I really hate obsessing and getting sad over crap like this.

I wish I knew the answer to this one, all I can offer is some hugs if you want them and you're not the only one who deeply cares what other people think about me

Some words can be cruel, toxic etc, and even though we consciously know that the words are nothing but rubbish, they can still hurt.

Hello. For me, 'mindfulness' can be a useful weapon against obsessive thinking. Not really a cure, as such, but a tool. There's quite a bit of info about mindfulness on the internet.

You are not ugly or an ogre. You are attractive the way you are. Your mind is playing tricks on you.

I wish I could offer something, but I currently have not found a solution to this problem with my depression.
