This question has always given me pause in mental health questionnaires. What does it mean? What does it mean to feel hopeless? I struggle with anxiety, but wonder if depression is involved too. My first reaction was to answer no to this kind of question, but then I think of some of my other thoughts. Sometimes I just think that my future is bleak and long and worry about never feeling better. I don't really have many "hopes and dreams."

Hopelessness is when you feel like there's no hope that things will get better - best way I can think to describe it and in context to a setting where you would be asked that I think that's the best way to think of it.
