Can someone help lift me up a little and motivate me to move past the pain, depression, defeat? Let this thread be for everyone who needs a pick up.

You will get through this. Life has ups and downs, and there can be a calm after the storm. Remember are a survivor.

Yes, a very draining day for me as well today, so I'm telling myself, hang in there, persevere, focus toward those positives and keep the hope alive. Because we're all basically in the same boat.

I believe you can get up. I know you will move past this.

For me, I identify what is hurting me and try to grieve the loss. It takes time but works for me. The emotion needs to be felt out before I am ready to grieve though.

Much love and hugs to you and all posters in pain today.

I feel defeated too and hopeless. I am gradually sliding into the hell hole of depression.

I wish with all my heart that you start feeling better soon.
Much love to you.

Someone very close to me went through a divorce. Though her job sometimes stresses her out--her personal life is very fulfilling. She was traumatized during and for a while (a year or two) after the divorce but now (about 4 or 5 years later) she seems to have healed from it all. She owns a place in the US and a place overseas. She loves spending time overseas every summer and is becoming fluent in a 2nd language. They say learning a language in your late 40s/50s keeps your brain sharp!

I went to my kitchen window early this morning and the birds around my backyard feeder were so many and so different that it made me watch and smile. I didn't expect that little show, nor did I expect it would lift my sad feelings, but there it was, making me smile.
Maybe at our worst moments all we need to do is focus outside ourselves and we can steal a moment of peace and joy. My hopes and prayers for all who are suffering that you feel better very soon.

All the best to everyone having a hard day. Today I haven’t done anything at all which is not good for me. But soon it’s evening and I always feel better then. I hope you guys do too.

Nice post
I can see my flowers and hummingbirds feeding from where I normally sit. It is very calming and gives me a lift to think the flowers and birds are depending on me.
