I was just thinking about the holidays yesterday. This time of year is hard on me. It's my birthday next month and I spend all of it alone. I like fall/winter cause it's nice and cool and snowy. I just could do without the holidays. Perhaps I'll figure out how to do my own thing eventually.

And I'm with you. (((Hugs))) to everyone who is struggling or needs a friend.

It seems like I've always been alone for Christmas. It is difficult, but as the years go on, it's not as much of a big deal being alone as it used to be. I live in an area where the weather is fine, so Christmas is just a day off for me. I would go and do outdoor things on Christmas day and forget that it's really Christmas.

In the past when Christmas came around, I used to think that the next year I will have a special someone to spend Christmas with. It never happened in all those years. That used to make me feel bad, but not anymore now.

It's harder for me to be alone on my birthday, which is a week from Christmas (New Year's Day), than on Christmas.

I've just done a ****ing stupid thing

I organized a Christmas choir to come to my house and sing for me- but they couldn't come on the 25th, and they are coming on the 12th (or were coming)

thanks to my low mood, I 've just totally snapped at them and said they can't come because I " hate people in my home"

and now they are looking in to rebooking that date with someone else (the only one they could do).

—-hey, don’t blame yrself, I get the holiday crazies too. I am always wondering when JohnBoy Walton (idyllic tv family) is going to burst thru the front door with a smile on his face. Lol. Boy I’m really dating myself w that one.
It’s always sunny here too, so we just treat it as a regular day too with a little nicer dinner. Years ago I invited people from my support group for dinner. It was wonderful because they would have been alone also. Another tool in the toolbox is to help serve dinner at a homeless shelter, take that choir to a convalescent home, whatever. I should remember that myself. Hugs!

I created a new tradition involving an online game with a friend. We go to a large city and chase santa who is dropping presents from the sky. We do this for about an hour on Christmas morning. It helps lift my mood. Gives me something fun to look forward to as well.

I'm glad you have your movies. It helps to have those comforting traditions.

I also heard somewhere their is a website you can track santa and see where he is on the map

might be uplifting too
