Did you ever see the Joan Jett film with Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart (played Jett)? I thought it was great. I got a kick out of the soundtrack! Thanks for sharing, May

Another old cheesy song I guess... My former roommate used to play this every morning before going to uni. It brings me good memories

Not cheesy, May. I dig it! Thank you for sharing. I love the ideas people bring to this thread. It's wonderful. One of the great things about music is the way it can transport us to another time and place...a happier place...a sad but important memory we want to go back and visit for a few minutes...a wild and crazy time...a peaceful time...

Half the World Away / Oasis

Thanks for this!

I also loved this song, and for the longest time trusted in the lyrics. I was even voted "most likely to succeed" in junior high, so it felt close to home and I believed someone would come along to "make it all worthwhile."

Fast forward to today... and the song lyrics don't seem to match reality all that well. In all fairness, though, I think the promise materializes for most and I'm just one of the odd ones out.
