Remembering compliments to feel better

Would anyone like to share a compliment you received that really made you feel good? If you like, you can share who said it and why. If more comfortable, you could just quote it. These could be deep compliments, goofy, funny, or anything positive. You may have several or a favorite compliment to share.

"I was noticing you at work today and I thought to myself: there is someone who knows herself!"

I gave a presentation in one my classes at school.

After the presentation I was in the hallway and the prof (who is also my therapist) came up to me and said "really good job on that presentation". It made me feel so good. I don't do well in his classes and for him to say that to me meant the world.

Excellent! Well done!

"I love your hugs"

"you're really good at bunny hop" (bunny hop being a game I used to play, a board game)

while not really a compliment as such, someone told me today " just be you, don't worry what others think of you"

and that was so nice

My boss called me with a problem that had been really bothering him and his *smarter* employee for a bit and after hanging up with him I called him right back and said (essentially -- too complicated to recount here) if they took the thought to the bitter end the problem would disappear.

He paused and said,

"Oh my god I can't believe we didn't think of that.. Emily... you are dangerously brilliant."

Just felt so good because I know that I bested some pretty smart people.

"I know you aren't planning to have babies and I can respect that but you sure would make a wonderful momma!"

well.... least someone does

"I wouldn't be here in my new safe home without your help. I will always be thankful for everything you did for me."

The two compliments I get the most are that I have beautiful green eyes and that I am really nice and very supportive. Both compliments make me smile.

(this from a social worker who met me when I was an adolescent and severely depressed...what a wonderful thing to say to someone who was miserable! I'll never forget it!)

I got an early birthday card from an internet friend I have never met in person. She wrote that I am a brave woman with a kind heart, animal lover, loyal friend and all around good person. Made me cry in a good way. 😊

Unsure if this counts. Some years ago I was in a consumer art show. An art critic from the local paper wrote my paintings were quite sophisticated.

Compliments on my looks don't do much for me. I would much rather have someone tell me I'm kind.

Someone told me that so and so said I was the nicest guy they'd ever met. I was shocked to be perceived that way, but I'll never forget that compliment.

I was helping someone today on blahh therapy with his problem and he said that's really sweet of you, I'll remember you for a long time
