Jack is certainly misguided (I'm not a fan of cultural appropriation) but he definitely knows what depression feels like! And his song always comforts me.... Jack's Lament ".....and I, Jack, the Pumpkin King Have grown so tired of the same old thing Oh, somewhere deep inside of these bones An emptiness began to grow There's something out there, far from my home A longing that I've never known ...but who here would ever understand That the Pumpkin King with the skeleton grin Would tire of his crown, if they only understood He'd give it all up if he only could Oh, there's an empty place in my bones That calls out for something unknown The fame and praise come year after year Does nothing for these empty tears" |

Beautiful! Thank you for sharing! This one is not instrumental but I wonder if you might like it. I used to sing it in a choir many years ago. It is soothing. |

I'm typically not a fan of musicals but there is something about the West Side Story score...I always come back to it.
This one melts my heart in particular...it reminds me of someone I used to know...a parent who hurt me deeply and yet...gave me great taste in music...He's dead now. |
