So I am doing surprisingly well, although I lost a dearly loved animal early this year and it has been very hard; I am taking Abilify and it seems to be the wonder drug for me, anyway, although I do deal with some restlessness. I want to recommend listening to binaural beats or isochronic tones on Youtube. I find them calming and helpful, and when I was not on medicine several years ago they were even helping me. Has anyone else success stories to share? I have more positive thoughts and though I'm still as socially anxious and avoidant as ever, I'm not as depressed, and have things that genuinely make me happy. As in, I am happy with my life. Positive thoughts to all of you.

Thanks for offering these uplifting thoughts. I listen to what is referred to as "relaxing music" on YouTube when I'm here on PC replying to posts. Here's a link to the video I was listening to as I typed this:

That's really awesome LittleEarthquakes, marvelous, I can definitely relate to having depression alleviate somewhat as well. But, wow, glad you're not depressed anymore! What a relief because, God, it can be a nightmare. And sorry about the loss of your pet too. That's quite saddening.

In 2016 I stopped taking meds because I thought they weren't doing much, hoping I could just push myself through the symptoms using various methods, but it turned out to be the worst year of my life. I learned what being suicidal was, what losing your mind was, so I after a year I went back on meds and slowly began to improve again. Wow.

Hey, thanks for the recommendations as well. Just wanted to say I could relate somewhat. Appreciated reading your post!

Thank you so much for sharing this, LittleEarthquakes! I hope it will help some people here on PC. It's always nice to hear stories from people who could "make it through". I'm so happy for you! Be proud of yourself. I'm so sorry for your loss but I'm glad everything else in your life is going ok. Sending many hugs to everyone
