Starting new job today. It is only for four months so far, but still. I think it will be good with some daily structure for me.

I just hope I can manage it. I can be bit of a perfectionist (I’m sure many of you can relate). So I’ll try to go easy on myself. And socially, I hope I’ll fit in and they’ll like me.

And I hope I don’t get too many questions about why I haven’t been working and so on. If I do, I hope I can answer it well.

Hope you all are doing good.

Nice one MatBell, you're giving it a go and that's awesome. Yes, I can relate. And I can relate to the worry of being asked why I haven't worked for x amount of time as well. These days, whether I'm working or not, I just say I've been dealing with some health problems but I don't elaborate. I just say it in a sort of fed up way and try to move on from the subject. Works for me most of the time.

Hey all the best. Yes the daily structure may very well improve the old mental health levels for sure.
Thanks for this!

Thank you. I hope it gets better over time.
Yeah I feel really vulnerable any time someone asks me personal questions about my past. Still have a lot of shame, I guess.

That's great news, Matbell. I wish you all the best in this job.

I am a perfectionist too, meaning nothing I do is ever good enough, so I can relate to your feelings. Just do your best. That's all you can do.

Let us know how it goes.
Thanks for this!

Yes! I just experienced this today. I can have a good relationship with 20 people, but if 1 person don't acknowledge me it really gets to me and I get frustrated and angry. I quickly perceive someone as not liking me if I sense the slightest or they're not looking at me. It's really tiring and annoying I feel like that. Wish I could be more casual and relax a little.

Yes, I don't know why we focus so much on what we don't have vs. what we do have. I believe it's something to be aware of.

Let us know how things go with your job.
