All of ur opinions will truely help me.. just looking for ANY other point of view

so 2017 was really a bad year for me , and my issue is that :

==> If i find that a product was made during that time (2017) i dont take it , or if a video was created in that time i dont watch it , literally anything thats has to do with that year i dont do it

==> BECAUSE : in the back of my mind i say " if i get this phone that was created in 2017 , then it will be thanks to that depressing year that im gonna meet new friends, (because thanks to that phone , i will chat with new people etc)

As if thanks to that depressing year (year the phone was made) that im gonna make new huge changes in my life etc..

i already regained my old happy self , 2018/2019 were good , but i still cant accept things that were created in that year , thats why im trying to find a way to convince myself

Any different Approach ? or Logical way of thinking ? to accept every thing that was created in that year ? Thankyou alot <3 ...

,

Personally, StillThinking, I would just accept that you don't want things created in 2017, be glad you had two good years after that, and go on your merry way. It wasn't a good year for you, you don't like it, end of story.
Thanks for this!

This might not be too helpful, but I had something similar when a serious MDD attack hit a few years ago. Anything from that year -- music, games, anime, videos, etc. -- became somehow associated with the pain and triggered more of the same. The only "solution" was to give it time and get used to the fact that the attack was over and done with. It probably took a year or two to get there.

Right now all those things I avoided have the opposite effect -- a reminder that I had sunk in the depths and made it out. Maybe you can think of 2017 the same way (i.e., that you were faced with the worst and beat it).

Hello, StillThinking94. Just to clarify, do you reject items first marketed or released in 2017, or does the item have to have been manufactured in that year? For example, if a phone model had been initially released in 2017, but the actual phone you are considering had been manufactured in 2018, would you reject it?
