I have dealt with a feeling of deep emptiness all my life. I recently read that this can be caused by childhood emotional neglect. I certainly grew up with that. Aside from that, I've been diagnosed with depression since childhood. Just wondering if anyone else has a persistent feeling of emptiness? Even on days when things are fine...no real problems or intense sadness....but still empty/numb. If so, how do you manage it? Did you ever find a way to let go of it or begin to feel whole or complete? If you have not found something to help, please share anyway. It's an awful lonely feeling. Not something I feel comfortable discussing in the non-PC world.

Since having a couple of psychotic breaks and having to increase my AP, I feel numb and empty a lot. I just had a recent med change, like 2 weeks ago, and I feel a little freer, if that makes sense. When I was younger, I felt happiness more. Now, I'm pretty much a flat line with lots of dips. When I watch a comedian, that helps. Laughing helps. Seeing photos of cats helps. Or videos. It makes me smile inside and out.
