I'm so severely depressed and dysfunctional that I haven't been able to make an appointment with any mental provider (and I've been trying for almost a month). I don't have any family or friends to help me. The other problem is that I'm don't know what I'm looking for (or it doesn't exist). I need some intensive treatment like an all day program or residential where I'm around other people and have someone to talk to instead of at home by myself all day (stuck inside my head). The only places I'm finding are either weekly therapy session with long wait times or emergency room (but was told I'm unlikely to get hospitalized as not danger to myself or others). Would appreciate any suggestions for what kind of treatment or organizations I should look for. I'm in NYC but would be willing to travel somewhere else just to get some treatment.

I wish I had some suggestions for you. I'm in the same boat. I can't afford any sort of therapist because even the ones who take Medicare don't take Medicaid, and I can't pay the $50-$100 a month copay.

I completely understand how you feel! I am in the same situation

I have a suggestion someone in your area who I found on YouTube by accident. She does different things it might work for you she can also give you some referral. Check out Lisa A. Romano she had a YouTube channel for depression anxiety codependency it has her email. She is in NYC.

I hear you because I called everyone on my insurance for a referral and those I was told took my insurance when I called to set an appointment? They didn't take my insurance or they weren't qualified to help me.
