sometimes I wish I’d never “asked for help irl”

Today I heard from others in this forest irl

The system in this forest irl has made me feel...

Not mattering, being a “burden”
Not being “deserving”
Many other things

Which is exactly how my parental units treated me

If only the forest was a safer place.

You do matter and you are never a burden.
PC would not be the same without you dearest bear

(I wish I'd never put myself into a position where I would need help.)

I sometimes ask myself whether asking for help was the best thing to do for myself and family in my set of circumstances? Had I not sought help, would I be better off than I am now?

I can't answer my own question. That crucial decision lies in the past.

But the question I ask myself is different from the one you ask here, dear Fuzzybear. And your circumstances have been and are different, mostly.
