or do other people look forward to something (which is a novelty in itself) but then as it draws closer you just feel overwhelming feelings of sadness.

I should be happy that I'm going to be seeing my family for christmas, but I've got so upset about it that i've even considered running away.

I love my family, I don't understnad why I just keep being selfish like this.

(((anna)))) its dont be hard on yourself... you have these feelings for a reason though the reason may not be clear right now...

let the love of your family take over the fears... ive been uptight about the family get together too, but, its just too much work feeling that way... its easier if i just smile inside and out and stop worrying...

let yourself feel all your feelings though... it'll be over soon and the New Year can begin ...

Sometimes strong feelings can be overwhelming especially if they are all intermingled. Maybe you can sit with your sadness too and see where it is coming from. Feelings are not good or bad but just are. It is ok. Please be kind to yourself.
