I was having a conversation with my sister A today about how our family isn't close. She said I shouldn't let it bother me. She said I didn't talk to anyone in my twenties, thirties and forties. Why should I expect them to talk to me know. I tried to explain that I reached out when I could but I was pretty busy. Plus, no one reached out to me either. Next thing I know, my sister A is crying and angry and going on about how I hurt her. About how everyone hurt her. I tried to be compassionate but she was attacking me and I felt hurt by her words.

Now I am depressed with the blinds closed and drinking til I'm numb. I don't want to feel anything. I think I want to forget about my family. They're just not worth it. They don't care about me, not even A, and they will never care about me.

Some families have an inability to be close..

Some ''people'' are ''indifferent'' to their inability...

And naturally, that same person with that inability..
Will blame the other person

Fuzzy's right Deilla, my family is the same. It's been a great thorn in my side for a while now, too.

Maybe underneath it all, your sister is hurting, too - trying to make sense of life.

Stay strong Deilla.

Thank you both for your support. I am feeling better about things this morning. I'm hardening emotionally. I'm putting up shields so I don't get hurt again. You would think that during this crisis, family would want to support one another. But that is not the case. My only support is my therapist and coming here. I guess that is better than nothing. Again, thank you!

Dear Deilla, you have us at PC. Some families are reistant to change. Even Family Therapists cannot change them.

Do not put your hope in them, but in your ability to cope in your own life.

Send my very best wishes for your wellbeing!
