Hi all.
Anyone have problems with their memory long or short term that they can for the most part correlate with their mental illness or medication? My short term memory is shot, for the past year or so, Im not sure if its the medication or what but it is apparent. Ill forget Im cooking, forget my glasses, mind you my vision is -3.75. since this mental health situation my aspiring career as an engineering technician has been deeply damaged, I worry that the right thing to do is not have a job in engineering which has been my life. Its too easy to lie about it, because even the smallest insignificant engineering job programs the bad habit or the occurrence of this trait I carry to different jobs and people.. one day this trait could lead to a very important engineering job and my memory is extremely important. Does that make sense? Still waiting... |

Well... I certainly have problems with my memory. They're not extreme... just mildly irritating for the most part. In my case I think it's due to a combination of decades of anxiety & depression along with the fact that I'm aging. I've lost much of my long-term memory at this point... except for the things I'd rather forget which keep coming back to haunt me. I'm sorry I don't think there is anything I can offer with regard to your engineering technician aspirations.

Depression, its natural manifestations, and the probable side effects of medications combined to strangle and doom my own career.
At some point in that multi-year process, I semi-consciously made the decision to keep going until I "crashed" in one way or another; I rejected - or simply did not consider - voluntarily stepping aside and try to find something else to do. It was a fateful decision. I did crash. There is no guarantee, however, the other choice would have had a better outcome.

I have very poor short term working memory.
I am grateful to have some of my long term memories. I also fear there are things less desirable that I don't remember... ![]() I remember my friends and want you to know that I am thinking of you all ![]() |
