i'm now on injury number 5 in just seven months. the 'd' is worsening and i almost don't care anymore. at times just wanna crawl in somewhere and stay hidden

Dear jrae,

Five injuries in seven months is horrible. I hope 2021 will be a better year for you and for all us! Sorry to hear that those injuries happened to you!

Sincerely yours, Yao Wen

i dont anyone who didnt have a really rotten year in 2020.
i had surgery and was on unpaid medical leave for 14 weeks. during which i incurred a debt of approx $2000 i owed to pay my employer back for having kept paying my share of payments normally deducted from my paychecks.
the completely surprising outcome of that surgery was the totally unexpected discovery that i have stage 3 of an extremely rare form of sarcoma ( approx 1 in 1,000,000) & its inoperable, and there is no way to cure it
my sister died, my cousin died, the husband of a very dear friend died, my next door neighbor of 20 yrs died. my uncle had kidney transplant surgery, and my best friends daughter miscarried her baby. amoung my close friends 1 was in the hospital 3 times for various ailments, 1 had ovarian cancer surgery and 4 months later thyroid cancer surgery..
in my dept, my immediate supervisor has been on medical leave since october with shoulder surgery, 1 coworker lost his mom, 1 lost his dad and the 1 ive worked with since my 1st day on the job 9 yrs ago was homeless from march until about 2 weeks ago ... i did invited him to stay with me but i have pets and hes got pet allergies which prevent that from happening..
i lost 1 cat to of all things cirrhosis of the liver
1 cat to complications of diabetes
and 1 cat to cancer
ive had to have major repairs done on two vehicals
1 of which, 2 months later, was declared a total loss when it was hit by a car driven by a drunk driver as it sat unoccupied & parked in a parking lot..
a tree fell and did damage ti my garage roof,
my washing machine malfunctioned and flooded 1/2 of my house.. which took 7 days to get dried out and a month and over $3000 to repair the damage..
i came down with broncitus which turned into pnemonia which put me in the hospital for 3 day off work - & again unpaid for 2 weeks
my grandson transfered location of his job so his family has moved several states away now so so far all ive seen of my 2 month old great grand son are txt w/ pictures of him ...
i have no reason to complain about any of it because my year was not even close to being as bad as how bad the year was for other people.
we have all lived thru it and are still alive to tell our tales - and, i can only speak for myself, but i believe that its for that reason, we have a reason to feel very thankful
