I am finding myself In and Out of depression last few days - so afraid it is going to take me over - but i am fighting it with all i have ..
got to feel good .. have alot going on that requires me to feel good and up ..and i am throughout the day at different times ..depressed..few hours later - lightens up.
i feel like i am going in and out of depression.
when i get depressed it is the loneliest feeling ...cant get inside to comfort .. hurts so bad. Then it lifts and I am ok ..
sounds weird i know but it is how it is with me lately.
How to stay way from depression?

so i take a deep breath and go on. Just cannot afford to get stuck in the darkness of depression ever again.

hi free1... try using positive affirmations and 'healed you' visuals when you have the up energy in your favor? its worked for me...

positive affirmation : I am feeling better.

visual: an image of yourself has a healed, whole person. fill in as many details as you can. hair, eye color... weather, place.. clothing.. surroundings... view it often and put your hopes into the experience... when your low, it may lift you up...

tell yourself often (and beleive it) that you are a valuable person, that you make a difference.... cause, its true...

Punch the depression in the face and stand up against it! You can do it, I know you can. Just remember all the good times over the bad. It may be a rollercoaster but what goes up must come down, but then back up again!

This is wonderful advice and I've often found similar techniques helpful. Certain colors can be beneficial in what they call "chromatherapy" - whether they are actual colors you are looking at or visualized. For example, envisioning yourself totally enclosed in a gold, glowing light can help you feel healthy and strong.

There are a ton of great meditation CDs out on the market now too - and not very expensive ones. If you have a new age store near you, you can usually go there and even sample them to see what you like. Aromatherapy can also help - essential oils, scented candles, incense - they've all helped me to feel better during those difficult times.

Sending warm and healthy wishes your way! I hope you can find some comfort and relief.

Namaste,
Misty

thanks - i like those imaging techniques - it works for me when i am mindful during my periods of feeling better .. and really have to focus when i cant see ..so to speak. i am going to beat this ..being that i cannot tolerate a/depressants .. it is very useful - nature is wonderful for me - just breathing fresh air and hearing the sounds of nature all around when outside - i take it in deep. when i am inside i use candles - lots of them and enjoy the fragrances. . it is when i get stuck and cant do these things ..i get stuck until i pick myself up and make myself do theses things..which can be difficult at times.

rising up and punching it in the face is good too .. drawing from inner strength that lies within. getting angry at it and speaking to the depression helps too .. sometimes i scream to the top of my lungs - GET OFF ME!!

i enjoy art and colors are my thing - i take alot of my feelings and go to artist sites - take in the beauty of the peices i have seen,
i love love color.. again nature in all its beauty brings lovely thoughts of being alive and breathing. when i get depressed i think of yellows and their intensities .. reminds me of a beautiful day and makes me feel better. thanks for reminding me of how important colors are to me .. every hue of color is awesome.. takes away the heartache.
i also enjoy music in every form .. especially dancing.. helps shake it all off and makes me feel so much freedom!
i am very into dance with sign language .. love it!
