Guess what? They test results came back today! The wouldn't tell me over the phone, said I had to come down to the hospital to talk with them about it. Naturally I freaked out, thinking it was something horrible. I was crying on the bus ride all the way there. Turns out, they just needed to tell me in person for confidentiality reasons. Nothing is wrong with me, I have a clean bill of health! I actually had to grab onto the chair I was sitting in so I didn't fall off, I was so happy when they finally told me. I was in anguish all week, crying in fear over what might have been inflicted on me. Now I'm crying with relief!
I know this sounds weird considering this is only step number one in beating this attack, but I really feel like celeberating tonight!
I also met with some of the staff who run the support groups for rape survivors, plus a grief counsler. I feel so empowered. Things are beginning to get better, I know the journey to healing is hard and long from over, but I'm getting there. One step at a time.
NOW who's gained the control back, I ask that heartless animal? Looks like I got the last laugh after all!

Good job! You are doing great and it doesn't need to be a long journey. I am so sorry you have had this experience.

I'm sending a hundred hugs your way; I'm so excited for you. I know that you were so concerned and anxious about this. Good for you about meeting the support staff; they are going to be your best bet in getting through this in one piece.
I'm so proud of you for making such great decisions.
I wish for you all the best,

lost_lonely,

I am relieved to hear this news as well.

I feel hope that you went and got the assistance you not only needed but deserved. Good for you.

There is nothing weird about feeling like celebrating news of this magnitude. You ARE a survivor and this IS a major milestone in your healing journey.

I admire how quickly you've taken control of your life back. You are amazing!! Keep with that support group and the grief counselor.

I am so proud of you for how you're taking care of yourself. You are doing a great job lost_lonely.

You certainly deserve this relief. You purshed yourself to do things you didn't want to, behave with admirable courage, waited out the anguish of hearing about the results --

So glad you are able to enjoy the relief

Hugs, hugs

Lost Lonely,
I am exhaling 100 breaths of relief right now. I am so glad that everything came back alright. That makes it so much easier to deal with what is currently going on without having to worry about being ok. ((((lost lonely))))
