Is it time to let myself out of the mental "jail" I put myself in when Ebony died?
I blamed myself all these years, sometimes I still do blame myself for not stopping the cancers, I still get upset and flashbacky over her last ngiht with me, when she couldn't walk in a straight line and kept walking in circles and having fits, I got her to the vet as soon as I could but it wasn't enough to save her, cause she had brain cancers as well as asthma and cancers in multiple parts of her body and she had things wrong from when she'd been rescued that were just about under control ![]() Inability to forgive myself over everything Ebony went through, caused me to put myself in the mental jail, I still don't know to this day if I can let myself out of it, or even if I deserve to let myself out of it ![]() |

Yes, I think it's time you can let yourself out of that "jail." You deserve to forgive yourself. If it were anybody else, I'm sure you would understand that they were doing the best they could and you could forgive them, right, so why not yourself?

Who is Enony? A cat? A dog? Thete was nothing you could have done. I onow how you feel. I was like thst with some of my previous pets. My old cat Snowbwas 16 years okd when he died.
He wasted away from cancer. I blamed myself for his awful desth as I didn’t take the best cate of him at times. He hid in the garage all the time for years since he was terrified of my other cat. He used to stay in the house . He’d hide, but he was in the house at lesst. I loved him so much. You did the best that you could. I didn’t. |

The compassion you show for Ebony (and all your cats) shows that you would do nothing of harm to her
