the sad truth to life with depression (possibly also without)

you're born as a little baby, and have no idea about life and all it's struggles

when you're old enough to really understand, you have all these ideas of things of what you want to be when you grow up
depression/ other issues get in your way, making it impossible to follow your dreams and acheeve your goals- and you spend the next 30/ 40 years trying to think about what you're going to do
and before you know it life is over and you're wishing for more time to do the things you didn't do in the first place
