I put my dog, my best friend for the past 13 years to sleep almost a week ago I know it was what had to be done. I miss him so much. I thought I was depressed before... I just can't seem to be able to get it together. I went to work today for the first time- I couldn't get anything done. Everybody was nice and said how sorry they were. But nobody understands -- everyone thinks I should be over it and able to go on like nothing is wrong. I don't want to get out of bed in the morning.

I'm sorry Mick.

It is so painful to lose the unconditional love along with the pet, it can feel overwhelming.

Take time to feel the loss and grieve.

Maybe you can do something special Mike, that your precious pet would have understood.
Like take a long walk where you went to remember him/her. Or you could mark the special place they liked with some flower seeds, and grow something there.

Feel better soon,
With Love,
Nightbird

Some people think that losing a pet is like totalling a car--- it's annoying but it's just an object at the end of the day. I know for most people, that's not the case. Hope things get better.

I just wanted to add hugs and sorry. I lost my cat yesterday. It's one of the most painful things to lose someone you love. I am sorry and dearly sympathize,
