For anyone who has ever started meds, or especially switched/added meds...

Did you feel really weird in the first week or two of the switch/addition? Because aside from just the expected headaches/nausea/etc, I've just been feeling odd. Happy, at moments, but generally... troubled. On edge, not suicidal but sure am thinking about it a lot.... gah. Not fun at all. And horrible timing. Its the middle of the semester, I have exams and projects and no time to sit down and wait for my body to straighten itself out.

But I bet "unstable moods due to a change in medication" wouldn't fly as an excuse for missing my physics exam tomorrow.

I've never been on meds but I've heard that the first 2-3 weeks on meds often have weird side effects

Believe it or not, "unstable moods due to a change in medication," as you put it, WOULD fly as an excuse. You could even get a note from your doctor to prove it if your professor doesn't trust you. Seriously, I just missed a MAKE-UP exam for instability, and my teacher has been fully understanding and accommodating. Talk to your teacher, and if he/she says no, go over their head, because it's a totally valid excuse.

Good luck with your transition, and I hope you start feeling back up to speed soon =D

I agree with thedelciousdish, I think that you have a valid excuse for being late on assignments. Med changes can be so rough.

yup. check around at your school, between the counseling department and the disability one you should be able to find accommodations for this problem.
