Has anyone else wondered if some day their friends are just going to up and leave because they're tired of hearing the same old struggle over and over again? I wonder what my friends think when I truthfully answer questions about how I'm doing. Do they roll their eyes and wonder why my depression never wanes? I feel like I'd be sick of me by now. (Maybe because I AM sick of me right now.) The evidence has always been to the contrary, but I still fear rejection.

ya I get the same feeling. My true friends keep reassuring me. One friend acts different in particular but I think that has a lot to do w/something else that has never healed - me getting a bf while he had a crush on me
so ya... it's something you can't help
try not to get down about it

One tends to find out who was really a friend when a person faces their darkest moments and that as they look up their true friends are still there.
A true friend will always help you out of a situation rather then moan that they have heard it all before.
You can gather strength from them in your hour of need and they can see the courage that we all have to have to go on.
So if you have Strength and Courage on your side although sometimes it mightn't seem like it you have a lot .
I hope that helps
Thanks for this!

jmo, but if your friends are asking you then they care...and if they keep asking you? they care.

I think most of us fear rejection when we are honest when someone asks how we are...and, yes, sometimes they do get tired when we don't seem to be better.
But--it's most likely from concern for you. they want you to feel good!

please don't be so hard on yourself. you are a worthwhile human being and you are doing the best you can.
