Hello Everyone --

I've been feeling much better recently. This past week, I forgot to replace my Effexor in my purse, to take during the afternoons, when I'm on the go.

I have to take half in the AM and half in the PM to avoid tremors.

I wound up forgetting it three days.

Starting yesterday, a severe headache set in. At first I thought it was from tension -- I get it from that, too. Still no FT job on the horizon, my PT job doesn't even begin to cover my expenses.

I am hemorhaging money in the form of increased debt and diminishing savings.

I probably don't do enough to look for work. Been at it since the beginning of 2004, and the results have been less than encouraging.

I probably have been skipping the afternoon dose for a couple of weeks before this, too, two or three times a week. I lose track. Don't tell me to keep a calendar, bec. I forget to write down when I take it.

So now I'm in a spiral of feeling physically bad, and stressed out and worried -- and I wonder: could skipping a mere half dose of Effexor three times in one week do this to me?

Ugh, Effexor is one med that bites back if you forget, at least I am told. I'm sorry things are rough right now. I have to take my meds 3 times per day because it's an old one and they do not make an extended release version. I have to set a timer on my PDA. I have also used a watch with an alarm and my cell phone at times to remind me. Otherwise I forget. It's worked well for me.

Hope you are feeling better very soon. Take care,
gg

Thank you for answering, Garden Girl, Esther, Shakes and Celeste. It helps to know you care!

I was extra careful to take 2 doses today. My headache definitely has decreased. Also being careful to eat -- another little thing I frequently forget.

Hello...

just want to say first of all that I'm glad that I stumbled upon this site - I can't believe I've been made to feel so welcome....

I'm on fluoxetine just now, it's the first time I've been on any sort of medication, been taking it since Oct '04 (although it has been suggested a few times by my doc, I always turned it down - thinking I couldn't be that 'bad' to need medication).

I sometimes forget to take it too - or I can't remember if I've taken it - one a day, that's what I'm supposed to take, in the morning. Some mornings I'll get into work and suddenly think 'damn it!!'... I've seen me have to leave and go home to take my little pill cause I'm so scared of what'll happen if i don't!! Daft, eh? I've wisened up to that tho - keep a small supply in my desk.

On the flip side, I panic about taking one, just in case I've got it wrong and I really did take it, i just can't remember, and i have this underlying fear of what'll happen if i take a double dose by mistake!

Those days are becoming less frequent tho, thankfully. My doc suggested missing every 4th day recently - i did try that but i became extremely anxious again, shakes came back with a vengeance, and i found myself close to tears, oh ok, in tears cause i was running late for work one morning.

I was really surprised and a bit freaked out by the fact that i was effected that much by cutting down so slightly.

Needless to say I don't miss any doses - not on purpose anyway, Missed meds -- Now look what I've done to myself
