I've Missed Everyone

I apologize for not being around much lately. I have missed everyone. I've been spending all of my computer time building a web site. I like the way it has turned out. (as many of you know, I have very few computer skills)

I may continue to be gone alot until I'm able to figure out how to get my web site on a host server. I've worked all week trying to get it on our internet provider site which is free and no ads! I'm not having any success.

I've read two books and lots of stuff on the internet and it just isn't clicking......but I am proud of my site which no one can see. ha! I used Microsoft Publisher......has anyone else used that?

It's fun isn't it? I like making web site. It's a challenge and very technically educative. Can be frustrating at times though.

Susan, when I had my grandparent's website, I built it on GeoCities. They've merged with another provider now, but it was free. They had their own tools to build the site.

So... you're learning HTML, are you? Probably a lot of other things that hadn't evolved yet when I had my site. It can sure be fun... AND addicting!

Isn't HTML fun? I know a tiny bit of it and started a website long, long ago, then couldn't figure out what to put on it other than my name.

I looked for books to teach myself from and most of them confused me more than helped, but I found one that is dog-earred from so much use - "HTML for the World Wide Web" by Elizabeth Castro. It is one of the "Visual Quickstart Guide" series.

Ok, you've got to let us see your website when it's all finished....pleeze?

I think it's great that you're making a website of your own. I wish you the best of luck. If you get too frustrated, take a break and then go back to it. Letting your head clear for awhile may help some.

Oh! You are much more adventurous than I!!! I wouldn't dare try to have my own website, even though ppl IRL insist I know so much more than the average person. I commend you for this! Yes, you've been missed!!!
