Are other people really happy or is happiness just an illusion? I'm not sure it really exists...

i think it's an individual opinion about whether it's an illusion but as for me i was once very depressed and unhappy. once i sought help with a T and pdoc and got on meds, jme, my life is full of happy moments.

happiness is not an illusion its just not continuous. Its intangable, its subjective, its often illusive, but it is real. I believe in happiness like I believe in air, I can't see it but I know its there and see the effects of it, I don't see the wind but I see the leaves move.

Happiness is real, it just takes something to put things in perspective. Too often we dwell on the awful things in life that are making us miserable but we forget to be thankful for the good things in life, loved ones, a pet that is there for you no matter what, a roof over your head, food when you're hungry, a blanket when you're cold. There will always be something going on in life that will stress us out I think the key is appreciating the good things too.

Hmm thanks for the insight everyone. I've been feeling pretty down lately. Not sure what is wrong with me... But I've had problems with depression and anxiety my entire life and I have a pretty great life! I've tried meds and nothing works for me... maybe I need to change the way I think....

*points up* good posting

sometimes we can't see happiness or believe in it, but it's only another step away. Keep walking, keep trying, reach for it. No matter how hard it gets, thats the only way to get it, and it's too special to give up
